LMC Buying Group

It has been brought to the LMC Buying Group's attention that a company called ProCure Health have been contacting GP practices about them setting up, for example, the 'Kent Buying Group' through a website called Medical Supermarket.  This may cause confusion using a similar name so the LMC Buying Group have drafted a letter to address these concerns.  Click here for the letter.

Bro Taf LMC is a member of the UK wide LMC Buying Groups Federation, which was established in 2009 and now comprises 57 LMCs and over 4200 practices.  Because Bro Taf LMC is a member of the Federation, all GP practices in Bro Taf can access significant savings on a range of goods and services.

The Federation negotiates deals with approved suppliers on a range of goods and services practices regularly buy.  Things like medical consumables and equipment, office supplies, practice and locum insurance, vaccines, utilities etc.  These are reviewed annually and prices are kept under constant review by procurement advisers who, while undertaking regular price comparison analysis for individual practices, have demonstrated savings on just a few of these deals of between £3-12,000 per year for an average practice and, taking all the deals into account, of between £10-30,000 per year (without it costing them a penny).
